HELLO! i'm back!


i wonder if anyone realised i was away :) what did i miss over here in singapore? :(

anyway, let me blog slowly about the trip. i can say it was quite fun.. but there are 3 very sad things about the trip :(((


1) i didn't see snow. omgggg? maybe have lah.. on the ground loh. unfortunately everytime i left a place that place would start snowing :( so in the end i didn't even see anything! not even rain! (not the korean star rain of coz)

2) i didn't buy many things after all the shopping. firstly, the tour guide didn't give us enough time to shop. secondly, most of the things there weren't suitable for us. eg winter wear. thirdly, the things were EXPENSIVE. the cost of living there is high high high and even a hair clip can have a price as crazy as S$80. *faint*

3) i didn't get any frostbites luckily. but becoz of the cooolllldddd weather there all of us tropical beings developed rashes all over our bodies that itch like hell. thats not the worst thing! the worst thing about it was that we couldn't scratch coz of the extremely thick clothings we have :x it was certainly a torture. after all the scratching there will be scars left. so now i have scarred arms and limbs :(


basically we travelled from Seoul, which is situated northwest in South Korea to Daegu, which is situated southeast. then we flew to Jeju island at the south and finally back to Seoul again. the winter there follows a pattern of 4 warm days and 3 cold days. on our first day there it was the beginning of the cycle and it was warm. but warm is still at most 4 deg C! so the temperature for our first 4 days ranged from 0 to 4 deg C. on the 5th day the temperature fell sharply to -7 deg C! the worst was on our last day, -11 deg C. shiok ah :x i could almost feel my blood freezing beneath my skin. i tried to walk outdoors bravely without gloves and half an hour later i ended up running back into the bus :x my hands went completely numb and i thought my fingers would drop off if i flung my hands. after you feel the coldness on your skin the next thing that would happen is people telling you "HEY! your mucus touch your lips already!" arghs. coz you will lose control of your face and you won't be able to feel anything! it's kinda weird why mucus will start dripping for everyone even for those not having runny nose :x after the mucus thing will be the cracking of your skin. most of us have fingers that have skin cracking along the prints. the cracks look exactly like paper cut and blood will be oozing out :( quite painful leh!

korea days are short. the sky only brightens at 7am and by 5.30pm it'll be pitch dark :x

first day - Singapore to Seoul

we reached Seoul early in the morning. the moment we stepped out of Incheon International Airport we had to sit in the bus for 2 hrs before reaching our destination. we weren't supposed to rest in hotel first and we had to start our day immediately. the plane was squeezy and so was the bus! the bus was super bumpy all of us felt pukish after the 2 hrs ride. as if 6 hours of flight and 2 hrs of bus ride weren't enough, we had to take a boat to nami island and that was another 10 mins :x

nami island was the place where winter sonata was filmed :)

after that we went to coex mall to shop and we realised that the korean winter wear damn nice! the winter wear that singapore sells sucks. limited variety and ugly.. we sure looked like some kuku people to the koreans :x one great example of limited variety is that we found a man wearing the same coat as my dad and a woman wearing the same top as my mum :x

later was a visit to lotte world!



lotte world is a theme park owned by lotte :D the rides were fun but there were long queues everywhere! we didn't manage to catch all the rides we wanted due to long queues, short of time, and long travelling distance to take another ride :( anyway the people who work there only speak korean so even the instruction for each ride was in korean -.- we didn't understand a single word haha :x
